Hi!
Coco.
Honestly... that sounds like you never made something on your own! Everybody can play. But creating something (maps or software) is something completely different.}TCP{Ghost wrote:I would care about my reputation as a player..but not as a mapper, those same people should be the ones happy that I would spend MY free time on making them maps.

I make my own music..I know it is good, but I don't care about my reputation, people can either like or hate it, I don't give a damn..as long as I can make my own songs.
Same goes for everything I create from scratch.
I do it for my own satisfaction, not because of what other people might think, or do. If that is the reason why you people care so much about reputation, then you really have a screwed up mindset when it comes to mapping, sorry.

Hi!
I wasn't referring to reputation but to other people modifying your work in a way that you don't like at all.
Lets say you don't like Hip-Hop. Lets further assume you create a piece of music and put some deep feelings in it. Then some guy graps it, removes the melody, adds some unfitting "cool percussions" and the voice of some idiot rapping stupid text instead of the melody. At the end, he publishes the crappy tune with the note that the original was made by you.
Now people hear the song, do unlikely to know the original and think: "What an idiotic song this guy called Ghost made. Well, at least the other guy added some cool rhythm."
I think you got it now...
Coco.

That what I wanted to tell all the time}TCP{PingKing wrote:k lemme explain this once and for all the biggest honour for a mapper is to make a popular map it makes you feel good when other people like your map and say for instance little cretin changes your map without your permission and then you see your months of work ruined by 1 little cretin who can barely map well then that would not be nice.

Such a thing wouldn't happen in Music, I have rights there, I get paid if they touch my music, they have to ask permission, I could've said no in that case.
@Marcin, I do get it, I simply do not agree, you people are way to covered in pride.
I challenge you all, make a map, just for the fun of it, try to not care what others think, try to not care about anything at all, only car about using ur heart and brains to make the map.
See how you feel afterwards, I bet you find it enlightening.

Comments are important. Making maps isn't only artwork thing. Im willing to listen comments good skilled players\mappers like guys from Titan because by their coments my maps are getting better. Is that very hard to get it? On your place I would listen comments of other people, or you're releasing it in public and making ashaming yourself
