remote unreal server browsers...
im completely confused...which is best? ive seen the simpel gs query thing, tcpn (which i used to use and it was rather good, but not quite as quick as normal unreal browser) all seeing eye (which i also used to use, but recently it only shows up half the servers that are on) and qtracker (which ill not use cause most admins havent upped thier server)
the gamespy query crap: can that be used to join the servers, or just to spy on them?
tcpn 3: a new version? when was it released?
btw, where can i dl gamespy query crap and tcpn crap?

TCPN-3.0 was released on 23th january 2004.
Yes, it checks servers relatively slow, because TCPN was thought as a tool which consumes as little resourses as possible. In effect it uses little of bandwidth too, querying servers "serially" (next is queried after previous' answer).
There is no new version, because I didn't get any bug reports, comments, requests of new/modyfied features. In addition even I don't know how many ppl use it if any
You can download it here: TCPN
Probably you want to download both files

Hello!
So many time spent to write this program and now I have to write ReadMe still. What to say? It's program named }TCP{Notifier... OK let's do it right way!
Name.
Already known
Purposes.
1. Notifying if/which players (from custom list) are playing Unreal game.
2. Simply launch Unreal to play at chosen server or with chosen player.
Features.
1. Small.
2. Fast.
3. Low resource consumption.
4. No addons and such "things".
5. Freeware.
How it works.
It asks servers for info about them and makes all dirty job for you to show you it in nicely way.
Servers' list is saved in 'servers' file. You can add servers there. Open the file in notepad to see how it looks. Don't change lines other than started with 'IP:' string! This is static list, but if you'll find somehow/somewere program 'gslist' made by Luigi Auriemma and copy it into TCPN's directory, list will be auto-updated every check if you wish. Needed files are 'gslist.exe' and 'full.cfg'. Of course you have to check "Get servers' list before checking" option and type in valid parameter for '-n' option of gslist.
In configuration you can set up timeout for servers. Program waits this amount of time for server's answer. Useful when you have overloaded connection. You can setup there the interval between checks too, and if you wish program to check servers when you are playing. You can't autocheck more often than every 5 minutes. If you set 0 minutes it means you have autocheck turned off - see taskbar icon.
When program has finished querying servers (taskbar icon is changing colors during querying) it has list of all servers and players playing at them. If you type in something in Memo in configuration (under 'Notify if these palyers will be found:' label) program checks if there are players containing in their names these strings (not case sensitive). If at least one new player will be found you'll be notified by popup window and sound. If you are playing at that time you'll hear only sound. You can change sound replacing 'notify.wav' file or disable sound deleting this file.
If you left-click notify window it disapears. If you click program icon placed in the taskbar window popups
Double click taskbar icon or choosing 'Servers/plaers' option from popup menu of this icon launches new interesting window. There you can browse servers or players and display adequate infos. You can sort lists if you wish. Selecting player or server, team and password (default: lol) and clicking 'Play' button you start to play Unreal
Notice that if you have configuration or servers/players window visible and there is a time to autocheck check doesn't occur cause of integrity reasons and to don't mess up your browsing.
...hmm I think that's all. Enjoy!

Code: Select all
Gslist 0.6.1b
by Luigi Auriemma
e-mail: aluigi@autistici.org
web: http://aluigi.altervista.org
Usage: gslist <options>
Options:
-e some usage examples
-N GAMENAME retrieves the servers list of the game called exactly GAMENAME
(use -l or -s to know gamename). Example: gslist -N ut2
-n NUM obsolete option to retrieve the servers list using their places
(use -l or -s to know the left number). Example: gslist -n 166
-l Shows the complete list of supported games and their details
-s PATTERN searchs the game name, parts of the name or any other things
into the list of supported games and shows some details.
It is case insensitve, so -s UNREAL and -s unReaL are the same
-u updates the current list of supported games in gslist.cfg
directly contacting the Gamespy webserver (use it for new games)
-i HOST PORT requests informations to a remote game that supports the old
Gamespy query protocol (\status\)
-I HOST PORT as above but using the new Gamespy query protocol (FE FD ...)
-f FILTERS specify a filter to apply to the servers list before returning.
Valid operators are:
<>, !=, >=, !<, <=, !>, =, <, >, (, ), +, -, *, /, %,
AND, NOT, OR, LIKE, NOT LIKE, IS NULL, IS NOT NULL
Valid items are:
hostaddr, hostport, gamever, country (check the -c option)
hostname, mapname, gametype, gamemode, numplayers, maxplayers
Wildcard character: % String delimiter: '
Examples: -f "((hostname LIKE '%Bob%') AND (country='US'))"
-f "(numplayers > 0)"
-c shows the list of country codes to use with the filter "country"
-r "prog..." lets you to execute a specific program for each IP found (as the
ping command for example).
There are 2 available parameters and are #IP and #PORT that will
be substituited with the IP and port of the current online game
server found in the list. Example: -r "echo #IP and #PORT yeah"
-b PORT heartbeats sender, lets your IP address to be included in the
online servers list, the PORT is the query port of your server.
PORT will be bound for some milliseconds to be able to answer to
the master server queries or possible validation requests, so
during this small time your server will be no accessible
Must be used with one of the -N, -n or -y options
Then note this option is a bit experimental, use -B if possible
-B PORT as above but the port is not bound, is needed that your server
supports the old Gamespy query protocol (\status\) otherwise
your server will not be added in the servers list
-x S[:P] lets you to specify a different master server (S) and port (P is
optional) instead of master.gamespy.com:28900
-o OUT lets you to specify a different output for the servers list
(default output is screen). You can use:
1 = text output to a file for each game (ex: serioussam.gsl).
string: 1.2.3.4:1234 (plus a final line-feed)
2 = text output as above but to only one file (gslist-out.gsl)
3 = binary output to a file for each game: 4 bytes IP, 2 port
example: (hex) 7F0000011E62 = 127.0.0.1 7778
4 = binary output as above but to only one file (gslist-out.gsl)
5 = exactly like 1 but to stdout
FILENAME = if OUT is a filename all the screen output will be
dumped into the file FILENAME
-q quiet output
-y NAME KEY Uses a custom gamename and game key: useful if you use Gslist
for one game only or if the game or applications not listed.
Some examples are: -y gamespy2 d4kZca -y gslive Xn221z
