Shield binds

Post by }TCP{Ghost »

Hi all..I was checking ut websites..and discovered this little bind that allows you to use both shield gun firing modes..instantly..

so if u want shield..u press the chosen bind...and ur shield pop up..releasing it will result into switching to the weapon u used before..

same goes for primary and shield jump..here are the ini lines..

Aliases[36]=(Command="SwitchWeapon 1 | Button bFire | OnRelease Jump | onrelease switchtolastweapon",Alias="Hammer")

this is the shield jump..it is configured in that way that if u shield jump..u will automatically jump urself too..also..u can do a double jump by pressing jump afterwards for extra height..

key=switchweapon 1 | altfire | onrelease switchtolastweapon

this is for shield...

Nice find but I rather press the buttons myself. And who says I want to switch to the last used weapon after. :D

sometimes when some stupid mofo is spammin at you..normal switch time just isn't fast enough..and when ur in a corridor..u can't dodge the spam..then shield is useful...stuff like that...and u do press the buttons yourself lol?
Most likely u were planning something with the weapon you pulled out..so after taking care of the spamnoob..simply releasing the button gives u back the weapon..

Hi!

Nice, I think this could be useful in some cases. But still, I'm a little out of free keys in reach, so I think I'm not going to use it right now. But maybe that will change if all of you are driving me crazy with fast Shield Gun use and I'm the only one who can't do it. :-)

Hi!

Ah well, mouse and buttons... that's a special topic for me. See, I'm unfortunately used to move forward with the middle mouse button. That's why I can't play with a mouse that has a scroll wheel. If I do, my finger hurts after some minutes, because I keep pressing the wheel all the time. Because of this, I have to use a very old three button mouse (with a real button instead of a wheel). I was trying to find a newer one, so I would at least have an optical movement recognition, but all optical mice that I could find have scroll wheels. In the last few weeks, my old mouse keeps bugging me all the way, because it hangs in the most important situations - that means it doesn't move although I push it. This way, I sometimes can't move around to focus an opponent and, even more important, to aim.

Well I think I have to revonfigure everything sooner or later and get myself an optical mouse. But at the moment I'm not really willing to get used to another input setup. :-(

Yea.... changing a long used configuration is a hassle, but if you do it right, it is a one-time hassle. I changed from numpad movement to esdf a long time ago and never regretted it, although I totally played like a dork for a while :)

Remembers me of the italian guys who played halo with a PS2 pad, seriously you will get owned lol. It's so hard to aim, your aim will even get worse lol.

You don't need that at all lol, its exactly the same as a keyboard but alot of buttons missing? that sucks, if you want to type something you have to use the keyboard anyway.

Oh yeah and I don't think that even exists. :P

Yes, it's a hassle indeed. Anyway, the problem that I have with the esdf keys is that they're not precisely vertically aligned. I'm currently using the six keys above the cursor keys besides my mouse. These keys are precisely vertically aligned. And each time I try to change to some letter keys, I have the problem that I don't really find the keys I need. :-(

Anyway... I'll have to change it all one day... probably sooner that I want. :-)
