What is the online game ppl play these days?
When I started to play Unreal in fall 2002 there was a lot of Unreal players. Where they are? What is the most beloved online game now? What is the game they moved to?
What is this game?

ok i can offer an 'interllectual' awnser but its just an extended awnser of the ones already posted.
people dont want to play old games. that sounds blunt but thats just how it is. theres advertisement for all the new games, theres big tournaments, even involving actual prizes, theres loads more players (and thats not just because people are laving unreal, even brand new unreal players are starting with ut2k4), theres a more varied amount of servers, noob rooms ect, mainly in the new uts im refering too there...there is better graphics, editor is easier to use (again, new UTs)
i keep saying 'new UTs' becauseits not just the new UTs people are going to..half the kaos clan just left for ffOnline, where i hope to be going in a year or so, with the advent of consoles online, people are leaving to go play thier fave console games online, especially tony hawks and other classics which now support an online option.
you all call me pesemistic when i say this but UNREAL IS ON ITS LAST LEGS. VERY LITTLE CAN BE DONE TO SAVE IT NOW. there are few things left in unreal to keep players. the two major things are the sense of comunity and the variety. the fact that its a single player game doesnt apply to this particular question as people playing SP obviously arnt online anyway.
anyways...the moral of this:
dont be nieve. all good things come to an end. accept it, or try and do something about it (learn mapping, scripting, whatever) but dont moan about it. dont ask stu[pid questions that you can awnser on your own with a litle thinking. and by god dont make me awnser a question like that again.
furthermore: the most played online game of the moment is socom i think. soon it will be halo 2 or killzone. im hoping it will be killzone.
for pc games tho, which is more up your street i think, the 4 major games are ut2k4, diablo 2, ffonline and everquest. runescape too i suppose but only people who dont know much about online games play that.

I always wonder why ppl are stupid enough to buy a game and then also pay monthly to be able to use a product they bought :/
Diablo 2 is old as hell now as well, isnt it ?
Heck, if I could play ut2k4 online, I'd probably also play it
Ppl could also be busy with their social life...or play SP games like teh doom or teh Asterix and Obelix or Chessmaster (that has mp as well..) :/
Another thing would be emulator crap, as there are always ppl playing NeoGeo or Genesis/MegaDrive games on Kaillera..
Or ppl just became downloaders, now that there is huge BW available for not much payment, and therefore dropped their MP engagements :O
Never forget though.. Championship Manager is the best :l

My server is full most of the time. Sometimes players are even hammering it with login requests to try to login. But I guess coop is doing better than deathmatch. When you want to play deathmatch, there are tons of alternatives to Unreal, but when you want to play coop, well: Serious Sam has a nice coop mode, but I don't know any other popular coop games.
