OldUnreal / Smirftsch released a new patch for Unreal 1, version 227i. OldUnreal has permission from Epic Games and access to the source code to update the old game from 1998. Unreal 227i brings many new features, support for modern graphics and sound hardware and fixes for bugs that were still present in the last official patch 226f. It also comes with improved network code and many security fixes. Read the release notes for more information.

It's been a long time since 227h was released and it is more than about time to release 227i now. As always it took way longer than expected, but our team of scripters and coders became very small. Also the number of testers and reports is not as big as it used to be. So forgive me if we missed something.
We fixed a lot of things again and improved performance as well as security. There are a lot of fixes and new small additions for UED2.1, mapping should make even more fun now. Check the Release Notes for details.
Don't forget to read the FAQ if you have problems.
So enjoy the patch and report any issues you encounter.
It appears that 227i has introduced some mod incompatibilities with map handling / changing.
That is kinda unfortunate, since I told Smirftsch about that after he came to me with a problem. Seems he kept the changes which are responsible for that in the code, despite me advising against it.
No point in installing 227i on our servers then as that would royally screw all our setups then.

Too bad, especially because the }TCP{ servers have been kicking 227i clients for quite some time now. Maybe you can at least whitelist the 227i package signatures.
Depending on which maplists are being used, you MIGHT need to rewrite them from the old non-dynamic array lists to the new dynamic arrays.
To see the differences best, get yourself an old default.ini from before Unreal 227i and compare that old default.ini with the 227i default.ini.
Note that when modded maplists are used, this __SHOULD__ not affect them, but I guess a few tests are still in order. Anyway, since OldSparky got it running, I suppose nothing speaks against the upgrade now.

Ah the old ini thing again. I've had to update my ini quite a bit with every 227 patch almost. TBH though 227 has enough new features. Bug fixing should be the focus now. Then complete JS.
