I have a couple of the Tribes games, bought them for LAN but we never really played them much ... too many RPGs, Quake and Unreal back then

It's a deception package anyway. They attract people to the game by making it free to play, but if you take a closer look, you see that even the so called "Starter Pack" already costs 19 Euros. It's one of those games where you can never catch up with the others unless you pay for every little bit. In this case, all those buying the Starter Pack will have a 50% experience boost and better equipment. So if you really want to play it for free, you'll have to deal with heavy disadvantages compared to those who pay for it. This just sucks. I'd rather pay for a game that's really complete then.

@Wolf: The concept of this game has nothing to do with Steam of course. It's the publisher's attempt to attract people and make them pay later.

As you play you accumulate experience points which you use to unlock new classes, weapons etc.
You can buy gold to speed up the process but you dont have to. I dont mind paying for a game if i get many hours of entertainment from it.

Even with no upgrades/unlocks you can still be competitive and have fun :thumb:

Ah... so the "online features" are from the GAME, as opposed to "hey these features exist with this publisher, which is why I chose it".

i got this it's free to play but stuff is expensive and i prefer 6 v 6 max in tribes its 16 v 16 :O and its looks like spam world , sniper doesnt hit nothing not good for me :]
