Mouse not responding right

Post by NightMan »

Quick question.. i have a problem with my mouse as title says. my last mouse started freezing and turning off my usb ports for some f**ked up reason so im using my old trust one. works pretty well untill i come to move fast. this is my mouse http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=14463 up to date with drivers etc.

problem happens when i spin fast, say theres someone behind me, and i spin 180 fast, my screen starts to move then kinda skips and jumps back, so i can move my mouse all the way across my mouse matt, and my view hardly changes at all, just skips and jumps and faces same way.. its like it cannto register the high speed. if i move slowly theres no problem at all. i havnt used this mosue for 2/3 years but i dont recall it been like that. any ideas whats causing it? :/

The specs appear to be ok for what you want todo.

Are you using the same USB port? Maybe the PORT has a problem, not the mouse...?

ports are fine, tried several dif ones, also tried a differnt computer and same problem. doesnt happen with normal usb mice either.. guessing the mouse has just given up in that regard, too old, only likes slow movement :P guess ima just look for a new mouse then, really difficult to play when you cannot turn around very fast and if you go over a certain speed, the mouse just doesnt move :P

I had that with almost all the mouses I used. Especially when I was still using a low mouse sens. Whenever I had to turn fast it sometimes couldn't keep up with my movement speed and then the mouse freezes or skips or resets (making you look at the floor or ceiling).
Malfunction Speed
Another important factor in choosing a mouse is the fastest speed you can move before it gives up and decides to fire the next rocket at your feet. I call this the Malfunction Speed, where the mouse loses control and effectively stops working. When you flick your mouse beyond the Malfunction Speed, anything can happen. You may either end up looking in any random direction or just find you haven't turned around at all. All optical and laser mice must have a Malfunction Speed, so we want it to be as high as possible so you don't notice it.

Well, you probably remember that I've bought the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 some time ago. I'm still very satisfied with it, so maybe it would be a good choice for you as well?

I've got a razer deathadder but don't let that put you off :p
I like it and it doesnt clash with my pc ... the only fault with it is that very occasionally the scroll wheel that I use to switch between flak and rocks sometimes gets confused and rapidly selects each in turn for a couple of seconds ... still it's fun to see what shoots out when it happens
The Deathadder was quite cheap when I got it about 4 months or more ago ... thats why I chose that model at the time.

I had another razer (can't remember which snake that was) before this but the microswitch went on it.
