stoppin' by to say "hi"

Post by RavingRabbit »

Hello there

I recently discovered a UT server with alot of very nice people and cool maps (not only these overplayed ones).
Of course im talking about your "Funhouse" server :)

As I plan to play there more often, I thought I should introduce myself real quick here.

My name is Michael, I am 22 years old and I am from the lovely Switzerland.
I work as an Electronics Engineer developing hot air tools for professional use.
In my free time I like to hit the mountains with my bike or snowboard.
During the week I am alot on my computer mostly playing computer games. One of the favourites of course: UT 2k4 ;)
I play the game since the end of the year 2005.
Besides UT I like to play shooters, some RPGs (only offline) and real time strategy. What I dont like are hard core simulations, the more fiction, the better the game :P
Maybe thats why I like UNREAL Tournament that much? :P

Oh yeah, one thing about my nicknames... I hope I wont confuse anyone.
I mostly use the nickname Toxin. But in the past I also used RavingRabbit.
Well, since you guys already have another Tox-guy I decided to use RavingRabbit on your servers and forums.

I hope you guys are ok with that... (some certain people like to bitch very much about "nicklaming" and such, in my opinion every nick is a fake since almost nobody uses his real name :P I think there are more important things in a good and fun online game ;))

Mkay, feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Im looking forward to see you guys on the server again!

Cheers

Hello Michael,

nice to see you on the forums. It's been a pleasure to play with you yesterday and I hope we'll see you more often now. :-) Maybe a hint, in case you won't find us on FH#1, we might be playing on FH#4 as well. A list of our servers can be found at http://www.tcpclan.net/stats/index.php. I just noticed that Carnage hasn't updated the IP of FH#4 yet, which has recently moved to a new server rack. The correct one would be 85.17.208.88:7777.

As for first person shooters and RPGs, we seem to have similar preferences. One of the reasons why I play UT2004 is that it is rather abstract compared to others. I prefer this, because I don't really wanna play wars or something, but just play a game that requires dexterity, reflexes and some tactics. As for RPGs, I've tried the multiplayer online ones a few times, but somehow, other players always ruin my character experience by talking bs or acting like this in roleplay situations. :-P Therefore I prefer the offline ones as well. Being a fan of the Forgotten Realms, I've played the Baldur's Gate series in the past, as well as the Neverwinter Nights one. The same goes for WarCraft 3 and Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, as well as a few others.

See you online soon, I hope...

Coco.

@ coco:
I like bioshock very much. its a fine shooter but also has some roleplay parts. a great mix. also its scenario is very original. you havent seen anything similar before.
some scenarios are way overused, like WW2. but bioshock gave me a whole new gaming expierience! loved it :D

Hmm ok, I had it in my hands a few times already, but didn't buy it. Maybe I'll give it a try next time I see it. :-)

I'm still waiting for the 3rd installment of Bioshock, looks promising!
Beyond our ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.
