MARWIN!!!! You have opened up a can of worms. It is a very nice subject, now that some, if not most of us are getting in there years. I liked what NMS said, and most of the others also opened themselves up to their thoughts. Carnage was right when he said this was actually a subject meant for "right now", but isn't it interesting to see how far peeps go in their minds. Very nice I say.

I like old Mustangs (the car). They have style, memories, and class. I like a new Mustang for the speed, muscle and the past that the name has. Hmmm, old and new kinda go hand in hand.

Hehe Frank!

Mustangs are really nice cars at all! I like them 2.

What do you think about this thoughts, its created from my head only :-P

I say aircraft-paradox to it :-D

In the past there were such aircrafts like this old bomber, created only for one purpose, i think i dont have to explain what i mean. So they made fear at all.

Image

......but today this old bomber are restored with hard work and a bit of love. And now it isnt really dangerous anymore, because its old.

On the other side, if u see the new ones like this fighter.........

Image

......then everybody think it should give secureness, but!
today it could do the same as the old bomber then.
And this makes me more fear as the old one.

So in this point i prefer the old bomber..........

Why is the old unreal tournament 2004 better as the new one for some people like me?

Thats simple, watch this:

Look this pics from UT3:

Image

..........and then this from the old UT 2k4:

Image

Do you see someting? Any different?

Again my thoughts here and again its a paradox :-P

The new one is way to complex, our brain cant handle that, its more like a movie as a game. We are made for simple structures.
The second thing is our contrast thinking. In the old one the contrast isnt so far high as in the new one, again a thing in our brain we like to use easier. Our contrast thinking is like DVD burner, it burns pictures of black and white in our head, and there are easier structures again better.

This "wow" effect of new games is tomorrow forgotten. Simply things are timless like the oldsmobile what Cent so like, or my old analogue radio what i like.

So what will after Ut3 rly came out? A movie? How expensive will it be in the production? What will then the next one give?

I think its like in real life, everygame have his time..........

........and i prefer again at this point the old one :-P

Both are nice actually. Since I got my new PC, I've been playing UT3 as well (offline). I've completed the single player campaign and can say that after some practice, it's not that hard to get into it - even into Warfare. However, I think UT2004 has a way better configuration interface. For example, you can't create a list of maps to play in UT3 and start with a map in the middle of the list. The game always starts with the first map in the list, which can be annoying over the time. And even worse: If you want to play a single map, the maplist is deleted afterwards. :-P

Furthermore, it's pretty hard to distinguish players or even vehicles from the map graphics at times, because everything is very detailed. However, the biggest point of criticism for me is that there's no double jump, which feels pretty limited if you're used to the UT2004 style of playing. Personally, I don't want to miss these features. Yeah, I know there's a mutator for this, but still it's not in the original game. ;-)
