Gigabyte Aivia M8600 Mouse

This looks like a real nice gaming mouse:

Usually, I'm all against wireless mice for gaming, but since you can simply plug it into a USB cable, it looks like you can use it however you like.

I might give it a try, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available yet. At least I couldn't find it in any of the stores provided on the page. It's still quite new as it has only recently been presented on the CeBit fair.

i got microsoft sidewinder

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gamin ... px?pid=100

after my friend found out i got it he bought himself the newer model, that ones wireless, it has the same usb option but its a little better, instead of a cable you plug in, its like on a magnet, so if the battery gets low midgame, you tap your mouse over the cable end, and it auto connects and is now wired ^^

i think its this one,

Looks quite nice as well. However, I got problems with most mice as they are too small and their mouse wheel is placed too much towards the center, which makes it hard for me to press it without bending my fingers in an uncomfortable way all the time. I'm using quite a weird setup to play and pressing the mouse wheel in order to walk forward is part of it. ;-)

And I have to say I'm really happy with it, it took some getting used to... had to search for the right mod's for my hand and all, but now it really works well for me!
The great thing about it is that you can define its shape, so it'll always fit your hand!

Hehe, I'm playing with 3 fingers on the mouse ever since. In fact, it's a relic from the times when mice still had a real middle mouse button rather than a wheel. I've played my first 3D games then (like Forsaken, for example) and really got used to this setup. You wouldn't believe which keys I use on the keyboard. ASDW are completely unused here. ;-)

Anyway, I don't see why I should get used to another setup for every game I play, so I always try to configure the setup I'm used to. And this is why I'm using such an unusual one for UT2004.

But I'm still not as weird as Carnage who is right-handed and plays with the mouse in his left hand!

Well, what counts for me is that the mouse wheel is positioned as far towards the front as possible. Furthermore it must be easily pressable and needs to be reliable in the sense that it really reacts to the pressing. I once had a mouse swalloing every few presses if you didn't press the wheel really hard. Therefore, my hand already hurt after 5 minutes of playing.

I'm also not doing well with small or medium sized mice as my hands are rather big. I hate to play with crooked fingers because it's unnatural and causes pain after a while.

I didn't know such mice exist. Might be worth a try as well. The mouse wheel also seems to be close to the front. Is it easily pressable and does it react reliable, even when using it many times in succession?

Interesting. The feature to adjust the length of the mouse is really nice. I might give it a try as well.
