New Anti tcc ^^

Hey all,

I was looking about the new anti tcc and seems it works but i think many people gonna stop playing now it scans ur PC for files named like cheats here are 2 exaple of someone who posted it allready on CB:

The log files from the Bayoo's case show that on his PC, was a file called helios.rar . There is no proof that the file is a bot, thus he has been banned under trace of a cheat.

The issue for raamp is 2 files were found. Both are old cheats of Ut2004, which would not work after the 3369 update (in yr 2005) containing .ctg which are ct-framework codes.

well i am gonna install unbutu and run it when i play ut2004 and win7 when i work normal so i can protect my private files but honestly i dont care they can scan it because everytime u join a server u have to agree and if u read good u dont agree and leave but seems that gonna be soon on all servers.

conclusion of my self its ok if those files wont be publish for everyone and second u can protect ur self not cheating at all or having any old ut2004 cheat on ur pc than u will be baned. (getting soon new hard disk for ubuntu +ut2004+ts3+msn only)

So what do u think about it?

I think that's invasion of ones privacy and shouldn't be accepted.

Its always a fine line between privacy and 'security'. I put security between quotes because it is never possible to guarantee 100% security. Not in real life and not in online gaming.

These kinds of things only makes it harder for cheaters to cheat. But to be really honest, I don't care about cheaters. Let them use cheats. It will only prevent them from getting better skills and I in the meantime I only improve mine

So I don't give a rats ass if someone cheats. Go for it! I cudn't care less. So far in all my online playing years I have only encountered two times an aimbot while playing online. First time was in UT99 when there weren't any anti cheats. Second time was in UT2003 long time ago before AntiTCC was developed. So to violate the majority of people their privacy for the very tiny minority of people that cheat is a nono for me.

Indeed, scanning the files on a player's computer definitely is not ok. As stated in the blog entry, this doesn't comply with the EU laws.

However, I want to point out that this isn't part of the AntiTCC release, but a custom extension that uses AntiTCC.

Well thing is it scans all servers and gets in there to the guid and ip they want to look at it so u cant control it if u are server admin

What? It scans all servers? I don't think so. It will only scan the files on your PC if you play on a server where this extension is running.

What? It scans all servers? I don't think so. It will only scan the files on your PC if you play on a server where this extension is running.

sounds more like it.. the server would have to have the mod running for it to take effect.. unless the new anti tcc is part of a ut2k4 patch thats about to be released and everyone will have to have it its not a new thing tho.. there used to be one called safegame check that scanned your pc, that was 2 years ago or so.. message comes up 1st time join and asks if you allow it, if you dont, you cannot get on server

Yeah sure, but the security mutators should either stay in the UT2004 directory or check the game process for any hooked DLLs or unusual threads, etc. Scanning other parts of the harddrive is over the line in my opinion. For example, see the log above: F:/daten3/daten3/firefox.exe? What does TCC have to do there? There's plenty of good reasons why other files should remain private (and I'm not talking about porn, just to make this sure. ).

This mutator has got nothing to do with AntiTCC. It was programmed by one of the ST2 dudes. No one knows how it works and what it does exactly. Maybe there's gonna be a public announcement sometime

from Vanvador or something i know dOh but if u have a empty folder in ur pc like Helios.rar u will be baned for it but only 3 months they should make it 1 year ^^
