Shit shit shit!

Guys, I'm screwed...
I got a Logitech G19 for my bday from my ex, but today the spacebar kinda broke....
I've taken some pictures, hope it will clarify some stuff.

If you look closely you can see there are 2 small pieces at the side that look broken, and they are...

Here are those pieces...

Something fell between the keys and I really needed to get it, so i gently removed the spacebar with a screwdriver, but the pieces broke. =(
Of course this is my own damn fault, which makes me even angrier about it... but does anyone of you know a simple fix?
Because now only the center of my space works, and not even smoothly.

Ps. I have no receipt, but I've only had it for 5 months, does Logitech give support without receipt?
Resistance is futile.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do but buy a new one. It's extremely hard to glue or somehow attach something to hold the space bar in place while you press it at its sides, because of the plastic they used. And even if you could do so, putting the space bar back in place would be a stress test for the fixed parts, because the system doesn't really allow easy removal and installation. Also, I bet Logitech won't provide warranty service for this kind of damage (especially without receipt), because it clearly is the result of violent force applied to the keyboard.

However, if you still wanna give it a try, I'd suggest to melt the plastic and attach the broken part before it becomes solid again. You can, for example, heat a knife point or the tip of your screwdriver (or even use a soldering iron) to melt the plastic in its place. It will require dexterity and some luck though. From experience, I can tell that no kind of glue really works on this plastic. :-(

Lol, I just used some model glue from Revell, if that won't work I'll try melting the plastic together.
Thanks for the help Coco, for now I'll just use my old G15. =(

Lol Tronec, you can't get keys out of a keyboard with a screwdriver :P. You need to open up the whole keyboard :D

Actually you can, the old G15 has no problems with removing the spacebar, did that before multiple times.
That's why I thought it wouldn't be a problem...

that depends which key tbh. only the space(and mostly shift, enter & backspace) have this weird connections on their keys. other ones u can just pop out and in without a problem, cause they arent that big they dont need extra plastic & metal things to make u press the tiny circuit ;)

Ah well, what's done is done...
I've found a "new" one for €100,-
The original was €180,-

I'm happy I got it for free though, as I was planning on buying it anyway if I didn't get it as a present.
Now it safes me €80,-

Or it costs me €100,-
whatever =P
