I was bored and searched youtube a bit about some UT2004 content. Found this 1on1 DM with Frantic and skAven. Both are newskool players, but they are one of the best 1on1 players currently playing.

It's a recording of the decider map in the clanbase opencup semi-finals including the shoutcast. I love the shoutcast done by Rubberchicken during matches. Brings back memories xD

Frantic is behind 6 frags and makes a very nice comeback

1on1 DM is much more interesting then 1on1 TAM imo

Yeah, this is an awesome match. Seen it a while ago already.

However, I like TAM better because if you die in DM, you definitely have the disadvantage of no weapons at the start, which makes it easy for the enemy to take you down once more before you're able to defend yourself.

I second that, even with the lame CB settings TAM wins over DM for me for an enjoyable fair game.

Although I understand the strategic concept of pickup denial in DM, it's just not what I enjoy (akin to camping ). Any game that heavily reinforces an innate natural advantage in skill or ping quickly becomes a dust collector.

But thats also the fun part of DM imo. That also made this match from Frantic vs skAven so exciting. Even if you are behind, there is always a way to change the odds.

The reason I don't like TAM, especially in 1on1's, is because at the top level, the game is decided mostly by the one that has the best aim. There are more variables in DM that makes it more interesting.

i always forget the timing on weapons and shields how much is that time? and we could play some DM when i saw it i somehow like it its more u have to do ^^

Weapons, ammo, vials and 50a = 27,5 seconds
100a = 55 seconds
DD = 82,5 seconds
