I lost count, at least 9 though. I played from 4 I think, which was on the Atari 520 and 6 was my favourite (on the Amiga). I have 7 (The Black Gate - PC) which has a strange isometric angle that put me off, 8 (Pagan - PC) and 9 (Ascension - PC) all ready for my happy retirement bliss days :).

I am not sure that the IBM PC existed when the first two came out :P

The PC has all versions from 1-9 as well as Ultima Underworld 1 and 2 and the Ultima Online stuff and also the Albacazeth or whatever it was called..the Ultima 0 thing..kinda.. :/
You can also get some Ultimas for the Atari ST, Amiga and consoles..but nobody plays that stuff on consoles..
If you have win xp, you can try dosbox with the older Ultimas, to make em work.
