general protection fault

Post by Frank.Sinatra »

Just reinstalled Unreal after moving (installed the demo, copied my old directory and edited my -valid and original - key in the registry since don't have my DVD anymore, he's 2000kms away) and some maps keep on crashing - and one above all, Goose, is 100% certified general protection fault....any idea what to do ? Deleting the cache doesnt work.
Should I delete some other files and reload them ? If so, which ones ?
Any other tip ? A full -regular - reinstall ?
Any (feasable) tip is welcome....

I assume this isn't the bug when u join from the spectator team ? That always gives me a GPF error ... join from the server list when in spec if so.

Delete in Systemfolder Goose.ucl
and in Mapsfolder Goose.ut2

Go online and dl Goose into the cache.
Extract Goose with the cache Extractor.

http://gms.cyberrock.net/products.php#ut3cacheextractor (take the ut 2004 one :-P)

If u r use the Extract button, there ll come a message and ask u to install .u files or not. I took allways "no to all". It`s better to avoid version missmatches.....
