LOGITECH G19 KEYBOARD

Post by JJ-9 »

Well, never told that i use a logitech g19 KB.
excellent thingy... and loads of buttons... used and unused.

First time i connect the wires... it worked... the day later (restart) my RAM died. RMA the Ram and got new ones.

Needed to update MB-driver (that time 1 week old driver).
The KB has a full color display with sum gadgets.... but nowhere mod applets to find, because it was so new. Only for the G15 KB... but those only look not fancy.

Last night deep in the dark and bottle i did a new google search and i came out on a site where is an applet that realy works great.
All sort of mods and settings to screen it up into that tiny screen.
cpu, ram usage. all sort of temps, network up/down, winamp, xfire and an very nice usage for Teamspeak.
They did a great job. So if sumone looking for it go to the link and learn more.

Hey JJ, I'm going to buy this keyboard soon, nice to know someone else has it also :) .
A question about powering it on: do you have to use the powersupply cable or can it be run on the USB?

Well i didn't try it without. But everywhere i read the lcd screen sucks "loads" of power, more then a usb-port can deliver.
I did reed several forums, and most peeps see the powercable as a big minor.... but realy i got no probs with it. just 1 cable power and usb in 1, thats disapear behind ya desk.

I read several forums and peeps had probs (just like me) in the beginning... be sure that you have the latest drivers and esp. for the mobo.

i still like it... :)

Yeah, I like the keyboard too. Its nice that you can bind timers to the Gkeys.
But since it runs of a power cable, I'm gonna need at least a 10 plug socket adapter to run it :)

Still..Why would anyone need an LCD screen, which basically doubles the price of the keyboard ? :O

why do you need a lcd screen if evrything happens on your monitor?
a keyboard is just a plate whit buttons right?

is this the reason why they call it g19? (even there are 22)
and where are these buttons good for?

Well i can tell you why....
The main reason ---> boys likes toys... thats it.

I had a keyboard using over 8 years, never buy a new one. So i liked this one and bought me a present.

i like to monitor kinds of stuff... like system temps and Teamspeak.

you could say.. why not buying a second monitor?
I have a small desk in the middle of my living, so not enough space.
I could re-decorate my house but i thinks thats more expensive hrhr.

12 programmable G-keys with three macro profiles each. That gives you a total of 36 customized key presses or macro combinations. The benefit will be immediately obvious to gamers, particularly those who favor RTS and RPG games, but these can also come in handy for productivity apps like Photoshop and other progs.

Yeah, but you asked if it is called the G19 because of the buttons (which are indeed 22 on the G13, not 19...), but on the G19 you have 12 of those buttons. =P

But anyhow, I've been using a Logitech G15 for over 3 years now, and I've never even used the macro buttons, maybe because I don't really see the point in using them ingame?

(Is it possible to program one of those buttons to spend points on a certain ability in invasion RPG? For example: as soon as I press G1 it will automatically spend my earned 10 points on damage reduction. =P )
Resistance is futile.

i doubt its possible, unless ofc you used screen coords f.e:
x=1050 y=700
click
x=370 y=927
click

this could probably be done
