Lol Frank! :D
Well the version could idd be bad, so I'm gonna try another one!
I already tried to install it on a completely clean HD without partitions or anything that could corrupt the install, still gave the same freeze though. (in safe mode it freezes while trying to load disk.sys)
my RAM seems to be ok, it's 3 GB and that is enough, even 1 GB should be enough and I also tried installing with just 1 GB ram.
I've installed windows 7 on my laptop as well, gave some problems too, but those where solved by installing with only a single core active... tried the same thing on my pc but that didn't work.
I've sort of given up right now, I have a clean pc with XP sp3 running and that's fine...
Maybe I'll try it again when my pc has been totally upgraded, I still need a new GFX card, and maybe a new mobo and cpu.

Thanks for the help though Frank! :D
Would love to come over sometime, though I have no drivers license and Germany is not next door... (oh wait... it is xD)
Resistance is futile.

Yup!!! Right next door, and Carnage drives bye every year, 2 minutes from my house, and if you catch aride with him, you could drop the computer off, go skiing with Car, and then on the way back home, you can pick your new system up. ;)
