Why the hell not? 512 MB is enough to run XP 32 decently (which my Dell Laptop proves without a doubt).

Thanks cloud, I'm now downloading that Windows Preinstallation Environment software...
To bad I don't have any empty dvd's right now... the file is 1.86 GB.
Is it possible to do this via my usb?
When I was trying some stuff out I noticed my usb stick is being recognized in the boot screen... is it bootable?

It somehow seems to me that your Windows version is bad. Have you tried to contact the company that you bought it from?
I have also thought of some old things that may help.
I am not sure if this was brought up, but check your RAM in BIOS, or at the start up screen. Make sure BIOS is reading all of what you got.
Try taking your RAM out and putting them back in, if they are not being calculated right.
Go into BIOS, and look through the system for something that say "Restart on system error", or something to that effect.
You could also try updateing your BIOS. But that is a bit tricky, without an OS to work with.
There could be some old leftover parts of the first install, that are makeing the newer install hang.
I am not sure how your system is made up, but what I do is a DBAN full format. This wipes out your whole disk, AND ALL PARTIONS!!!. If you go this route, the whole disk drive will be wiped out. But you will know that there is nothing left on the drive that will stop the new Windows intall.
I could offer you one more solution, and that is to bring the computer here. We can have a beer or 2, and c what those unused plugs on the main board are 4. I have a soldering iron, and a fewold watches, we could do a few experiments, and see if we could make time go backwards.
