Such posts should never be made a language other than English...

Not sure what they are doing, although FA2K clan says they are pressing charges against the (German) offenders.

I'm not sure that has any hopes of success. We can always ban their entire network ranges (2 so far, netcologne and arcor) but we will probably ban innocents then.

Other alternatives would be keeping the servers passworded at all times and inviting players "by hand". If they start stealing and using our GUID hashes, our reserved slots all have to be deleted.

I like none of the above, but reports are pretty bad as to what those people are able todo:

- Steal and fake any GUID hash from other players they see on servers
- Disable brightskins
- Ghost around and shoot while dead or frozen
- Mess with the gamespeed
- Assume arbitrary identities with generated (working!) IDs
... etc

As of now, neither AntiTCC nor SafeGame help. I suppose Wormbo / Shambs are aware of the situation but if not I might give them a yell....

Banning the ranges is easy, use WHOIS to find out the total range of a given IP address (in what pool it is) and ban that.

That would be bad for me, since my provider is Netcologne as well. :-(

Carnage, I hope the IP ranges you have banned now don't belong to Netcologne. I currently have an address that doesn't match these ranges, but I know Netcologne use various blocks. I tried to find a complete list, but didn't succeed in that. :-(

I read the post, and can not believe that there is someone out there, that finds it fun to ruin everyone elses fun.

How do you get rid of a Rat? Send him somewhere else.

The only solution here, is to not take the fun out of it, but to show him, the fun is somewhere else.

These guys are most likely great hackers, and can get through every barrier that we can think of, so maybe if you make it "easier" for them, they may go someplace else.

Sorry, was just a thought. Frank

True Frank!

1st contact i had on the ggmj tam server with this freaks. The server was rly fast emty, and how will i ruin others fun if nobody is there. To go spec is the badest idea, cause they like to watch them.

Hi!

Marwin, in the FA2K forum, you wrote that there was an incident on a TCP server as well already. Can you tell me where that was and what they did exactly?

I think it was on FH 1 but i am not sure. They made the whole server berserk, all players on it. I have no snapshot and demo, the server were fast passworded, and i have no rs, so i was kicked.

It was nearly this time at first post.

Why they dont suck counterstrike peeps? :-P

Hmm, alright Marwin, can't have been on FH#4 then, because you still got your reserved slot there.

Yea, berzerk for everyone. I accidently thought somebody specific was just haxing and kicked him, then realized the effect was global lol.

I just pwd the server then, since they obviously got past the security and I don't have the tools in ut2k4 I used to have in Unreal.
