Hey Kobra!

Looks like a texture problem to me. When looking at the screenshot, you'll notice that the map is displayed correctly with just the wrong textures. So I would conclude that you either accidentially overwrote or modified an existing texture file of the game or your graphics card / driver messes them up internally. In case it just happens with UT2004 and all other games function normally, I'd guess the first is the case.

exactly marwin :p
well this aint my PC which has this problem, but that guy said this also happens to other games he plays.
so its a grafic-card issue then?

I do not htink it is a card thing. It would be an engine issue. If you have been in the editor latley, maybe you should reistall the game. Frank

yes i recommended him to reinstall too but he said he got the problem also in other games like WoW..
if he switches to window mode and back or minimizes the game and maximize it again the textures turn normal again.
its pretty odd, i was just wondering if marwin found a solution or could tell what couses it :)

EDIT//

this is his system: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 3000+ ,2x 1gb RAM dual channel Asus EN9400GT WinXP

EDIT2//

this is another madness texturing he got :p

I restartet the game, that was all.

I think like Coco, overwriting textures. I had this with my old nvidia card (f*** this), buy ATI :-P

I would do this steps (only if he have a invidia):
1) Uninstall programs like Gamer OSD, Smart Doctor, VideoSecurity, GameFace Messenger and other unneccersary stuff.
- check out
2) look for manufacturer driver update and install
- check out
3) reinstal the card with driver only

Btw. what mouse does he have?

Hi!

Yes, Kobra, if he also gets it with other games and textures are fixed when he minimises and maximises again, it must be a driver problem or some configuration issue with the graphics drivers or AGP/PICe bus.

I would try checking all the 3D settings in the driver and probably also look for the AGP/PCIe settings in the BIOS. For ATI cards, there's also an option called "Fast Write" (at least for AGP), which could be worth testing on and off (Windows restart is required for that).

Good luck!

Coco.

Oh , above r the specifications.

I had the troubles also with an Asus silent card (8600 GT).

Here is the link for the driver update (lastest version 190.45) from 2009-09-22

If he have a asus mainboard and a razer mouse 2, then its perfect :-P

It somehow does not seem like a g-card problem. If the textures were all one color, I could understand, but they are loading another package.

If it does the same in WoW, and other games, maybe both games got corrupted somehow. Are the both on the same HD? Could the HD have a problem? Frank

I just took a look at rankin in the edito, and even the static meshes were changed. I still vote for the Package solution. I think one or more of the packages have been moved or renamed. And if it is effecting the WoW then this too is also infected. Good luck man. Frank

***OFF TOPIC***

Write me a note, and I will change the textures.. ;)
