I have played it a lot also the last 6 months or so on LAN and it's good fun ... my only critisism would be that the netcode seems to be very poor, it is slow to update on the largest maps ... that might be my PC's being a few years old but they can cope with FPS games so I shouldn't think it's that.
Loading a map took more than 30 seconds on my old PC :p
And some super extra large lotr map kept crashing on us all the time..The game itself would be perfect if it had a better random map generator and DAMN TEAM SETTINGS
We should play it some day, after all we're already 3 :O
We could play 2v2 ... but it would take forever to play surely ? Once contact had been made you would only be playing for a quarter of the game time (I transcribe Parish Registers when I am waiting for a turn ).
At least it runs in a window, so you can do other things during the waiting period
Good thing I'm used to waiting thanks to 10+min turn times in football manager on my old pc :O
And you can still chat in game or use that pointless Ghost Mode to waste some time :p

I don't think it will take too long, depending on the map size and you can enable simultaneously turns, there's also the ghost mode :p
