The Corsair PSU I had to buy, with its monstrous long cables and big connectors, meant that cable management took the longest time.
The Antec P182 didn't do much wonder for the temperature in its default configuration. Although it kept the case cooler for a longer period time, the temperature eventually climbed to 45 C on the mainboard sensor at non-gaming use.
Since it wasn't necessary to have a fan at the bottom in front of the PSU, I moved it up in front of the VGA card, so now the temperature is down to [30, 34] for the mainboard. The HDD is in the lower chamber, at around 32 C.
Non-game use (music, flash video, TV, DVD; room temperature at 17 C without heating):
CPU = [29, 32] C
GPU = [47, 50] C
MB = [30, 34] C
Game use (32 bots, 1024x768 window, most display settings on normal, ONS; room temperature at 17 C without heating)::
MB = [34, 37] C
CPU = [32, 38] C
GPU = [47, 51] C
Of course, these readings will change with room temperature, because most computer fans can only move air, not cool it.
It is noticably noisier than my previous case, though, even with all fans set to low.
The blue LED blinking on standby actually lit up half the room, even with the front door closed, because there are wents on the side. I should probably just pick out the Power LED wire, since it's not really necessary.
(Replacing the fans isn't always a solution to noise, since the noise also comes from air passing through the holes in the chassis. But this case is less noisy than my first big tower case, which had one chassis fan.)
PS: The front door on the case, which is supposed to open in 270 degrees, doesn't work as it should. It feels like it's going to snap off and break once you push towards 190 degress. Maybe it needs some use to soften up or something.
What PC case/chassis?

It's a nice case huh, that nine hundred
got it too ^^ with even more cooling on it
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Aluminium with a SilenX Ixtrema Pro Case Fan 120 Mm mounted on it
got all standard fans to high, except for the big one on top.
cpu get's about 26 / 30 C unloaded & loaded (2700mhz)
clocked about 40 / 45 C (E6600 3500 mhz) ^^
if you think about cooling, and dont want to spend to much this is ok, as i think they will be alot cheaper now

OINK,
After a total system - crash (mobo kaput) on crimbo-night (x-mass), i felt amputated.
Lucky me i had an old system P3 here.... but dang i hate it to go back in time....
hehe tell me that news to buy systemparts.
I had to search for a new system.
Lucky me, i was already lookin for sum parts. Unlucky was the money.
Lucky me again Santa was in the house.
So is figured out what i want. Its not a hardcore (game) system, but i think i can fly this baby for sum years.
For the case i was looking exactly for the CM690... very cheap (about 70 euro that time.... ) but the Antec 1200 just a bit more space.... and pritty good cable managment...
+ not much dust incase (we have 4 dogs and 1 cat) Washable air filters reduce dust build-up in your system
case - Antec 12 hundred
http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTEzMw==
mobo - Asus Rampage Extreme
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?model ... 3=640&l4=0
CPU - Intel Core 2 Q9550
CPU Cooler - Arctic Freezer 64 pro
Power - CoolerMaster RP 850W
Memory - OCZ DDR3 Platinum 1600Mhz set.
Graphic card - XFX GeForce® 9800 GTX+ 512MB DDR3 Standard (PV-T98W-YDQ4)
http://www.xfxforce.com/en-gb/products/ ... 0GTX+.aspx
And build in sum spare parts from my old one.
3 HD.... a Samsung dvd writemaster, LG204 widescreen, razor mouse. and a old keyboard.
Since i build this baby im using Vista 64... and still i dont like it... but i have to do with it... second OS im running XP.
my temps are:
CPU 23 - 29 C without overclock
my concern is actualy the temp. for north and south bridge... both 40-44 C... When going over 50... would be critical i think... so watercooling is going for the future...
Next option to buy is a new keyboard... but i got no idea wot to look for...
So this system... is my connection to ya all....

The XFX models are usually overclocked by default. Watch the temperature especially carefully with those.

im running it without overclock now....
and doing fine.
Its easy to play with the mobo and clock... i got it run 3.5mhz steady... but i dont like the temps on the bridges with aircooling.
so i brougth it back. The playable thingys on the mobo are awesome yeah... thats why i bought it.
There are sum peeps to get it over 4mhz... but thats going to far for me.

Heya rejecht,
well we (HK and me) always trust in Chieftec and Thermaltake. Very silent tho.
For my actual system i bought a Thermaltake Armor VA 8003 BWS, which has lots of space in it ^^, and is optimized for water cooling systems.
One reason to buy a tower of that size was my PSU which is a bit bigger than standard.
Also the gfx cards demand lots of space. Pretty silent without optional noise reduction kit.
The tower has quicklock for pci and snap-on (screwless mounting) for the drives.
GPUs in idle mode at 61°C and on max. settings (give-all) at 78°C.
UT on max. settings and room temperature around 20°C ( well..... women always have cold feet ^^ ):
CPU 34°C
GPUs 78°C
Case 46°C
still very silent ...

P.S. funny that most of us share the taste of tower design .... hrhr
