Depends on when you guys play. During the week I am at work when you guys are at home. When I am home you guys are asleep.

From what I can see we have 2 different major favorites, Tuesday and Saturday.

I suppose generally Saturday would be better to include people outside the European time frame, and also the chance of clan matches does speak somewhat against Tuesday. Do the "Tuesday" people hold it possible to appear on Saturdays too? Otherwise we would probably try BOTH days for a while and see which one works how well :)

or a combination of both dates

1st and 3rd week of the month on tuesday
2nd and 4th week of the month saturday

or something like that (just a idea)
maybe it gets messy useing this way tho

I'm spinning music Saturdays from 8pm to 12pm GMT so that would be kinda hard for me to do :(

We will start next week with both Tuesday and Saturday and then we will see how the turnout is. If we have 2 days in the week, we could also have both days every 2 weeks - or - just keep both days in the week but not hold the meeting if there is a clan match that day (which we should post here if not forgotten just in case) :-)

Either way, I expect to see some of you next SATURDAY since there is a clan match on Tuesday. In case that is cancelled we shall meet at TUESDAY for the first U1 TAM :-)

Can we get a list of the maps that are going to be played? It is a hassle to have to down load in-game.

dowloads should be no problem
Server is on a good connection and it also has the redirect :)
So it should go smoothly .. since the map sizes are quite small too

It is a very large world, inbetween Unreal and UT. Why do the downloads always take so long in Unreal?

Actually, they don't -ALWAYS- take long, here's an overview of possible download speed scenarios:

Unreal 224-226 server, any client: downloads directly from game server, as fast as the server can deliver. -FAST-

Unreal 224-226 + Nephthys server, any client: Nephthys speed limits these servers so that downloaders do not lag the server. -SLOW-

Unreal 224-226 + Nephthys server, Nephthys client: Nephthys redirects downloads for other Nephthys clients, requires 7z to be installed as well. If set up properly it is -FAST-

Unreal 227 server, 224-226 clients: slow or medium speed, depending on the setting "AllowFastDownloads" on the server. -MEDIUM-

Unreal 227 servers + 227 client: Redirect as in UT -FAST-

UT without redirect: always -SLOW-, SLOWER than any Unreal.

UT with redirect: -FAST-

Well aside from Van nobody showed up on time. Since for some reason, my server is acting up like strange now and forces me to go offline, I will just consider that first meeting a failure. Let's see what happens on Tuesday then.

Thanks for the explanation, Wolf. It is a bit clearer now.

My town had a telephone and Internet "blackout" that lasted from Saturday morning, until just right now. I would have loved to have been there. I will definitely try again tomorrow. Frank
