Depends on how TDM is played.
One of the major drawbacks we, as a clan, when moving from Unreal to UT2k4, noticed, was, that most of today's "competitive" TDM servers run with weapon stay off. In U1 the opposite was the case (except for 1vs1 servers).
I personally witnessed tons of matches that ended 100-0 all the time because one team was just faster at managing map control over the guns, with the result that the match was boring for both teams AND the spectators. This isn't how we wanted to play and partly responsible for our increased interest in TAM.

Iv always played with weapon stay off, also back in UT. I don't know how it was in Unreal, I never played that. But in UT TDM it was normal to play with weapon stay off. I always found it quite challanging to create and hold a maplock.
Offcourse you will need to play against clans that are equal skilled as yourself, because better clans won't give the maplock away without the use of a effective tactic to destroy maplocks.

Hi!

What I meant was this post from me where I explained how to record a demo.
@Marwin: You should leave him some time. It's all new to him and quote complicated. I seriously doubt we'll see a proper movie within the next month...

Hmm, wasn't your question how to record a demo? What you quoted here is how to play back a recorded demo.Wigglebottom wrote:By Coco:
"P.S.: @magic: Create a subfolder called Demos inside your UT2004 main directory and put the *.demo4 file in there. When you open the game, go to Community and then click the Demos tab above. The demo will be listed in that menu. However, you will need all the files from the server to watch it (especially the map itself). They probably reside in your cache already. If not, you should play that map for once and will be able to watch the demo afterwards. There will also be a text at the demo selection menu, telling you if you have all required files or, if not, which ones are missing. "

hehehe , didnt think i'd get so much information in such a fast rate.
thanks everyone ^^ *wiggle*
I'm actualy trying to learn allot of stuff at once , so at the moment everything is going at a resenably slow rate *Wiggle*
been learning about the unreal editor, wich is great fun *Wiggle* but i am still at the basics.
as for the filming, my first production will take a looong time *Wiggle*
i initialy tought it might be fun to make some movies of the maps i made, so that people would understand the basic structure, and some jumps that might be fun ^^ *Wiggle* one picture sais more than a thousand words, so 24 frames a second would make more than 24000 words a second *Wiggle* so i tought this might be a great way to exchange information of this kind. once this goes well ( again , this will take a long time -__-; ) i might be able to make video's of tactics ^^ becouse wiggle knows barely anybody likes to read long posts about where to go *wiggle* with some vague pictures about the spots. i dont know for sure if i will succeed but i can always give it a try ^^ *Wiggle*
and marwin , thanks for the codes
havnt had time to do much with rypelcam but i bet they will be usefull *Wiggle* i'm not that good with coding
so it might take a few tries
ps. been talking allot, this way i'll never get anything done
*Wiggle*

yeah , but with raplecam i can place cameras it sees , and it will have more functions i think will come in handy ^^ *Wiggle*
overall i think that raplecam, althoug more work to learn and use will be more flexible to work with. who knows i might be able to use it for different stuff too *Wiggle* im an artist and love to create. (thoug i see art as a very broad thing)
And if someone realy want me to make a movie (like a }TCP{ trailer ^^ *wiggle*) i wont mind making one.
have some experiance with premiere, and a little with after effects. but some friends of mine are allot better than me at after effect and i think they wont mind helping out ^^
all in all i'd still like to learn more about raplecam , but it's not a priority at the moment.

Hi!
Well, I tried it once and I had the problem that when I watched the recorded demo and found a moment where I wanted to set a camera position, there was no way to go back to that moment. As far as I remember, there's a function within RypelCam to go to a timepoint you can enter manually. But that didn't seem to work as it was going nowhere. So at this point I stopped trying out RypelCam, because there was no way to set anything at a given time in the demo. And watching it over and over from the start, just to pause it exactly at 16 minutes and 58 seconds by hand wasn't really what I thought to work with.
Coco.
