Hi!

Well, I guess that means that you have mainly viruses and worms rather than other malware.

About the partition backup: What exactly don't you understand about it? Is it possible that you don't know what a partition is, what tracks and sectors (blocks) are and how a filesystem works?

i do know what partitions are
dunno what track and sectors is
and i know that i must no use fat32 file system but the other 1 if i wanna have files bigger then 4gig

The links in my post ,if you look where it says hxxp you will see that i changed the tt to xx as i wasnt sure if you were allowed to post live links here or not and i didnt wish to upset anyone.

just copy and paste the link into your browser and then change the xx in the hxxp part of the link to tt so it reads http instead.

Concerning imaging, maybe wiki will make it bit more clear:

As MaccaD, I replaced the "t" within these links. Re-replace them!

Generally, imaging mainly is used to backup your system partition (where windows is located). It makes no sense imaging an infected system, because if you restore your system by copying back this image, you will get exactly the same infected system back. So, first clean your system with the anti virus software and then make an image.

If you wanna backup only your data (i.e the files on your external HDD), copying files to another HDD or DVD will be enough.

Hey guys and gals. I believe me and PD have been breathing on each other, to close and way to often, because I now, also, have a TROJAN. No, PD, I do not blame you, I know where it came from. It was my own carelessness. I have always been protected, and really never got much of anything. But now it is in there, and I am haveing trouble finding the root. So I believe that it is time to really do it once again. FORMAT C: with the little program I mentioned b-4. DBAN has always been a friend of mine in the past, and it will come to use once again. I will be off 4 awhile, but still have my laptop, so I can still write in the forum. C ya all soon. Frank

Quick, yes. I have a habit of reformatting my computer every 6 to 12 months or so, if it needs it or not. I have had practice.

The "culprits", are most likely either the makers of virus protection programs, or a bunch of kids that have nothing to do but think they are cool and make programs to sabotage small peeps like me. It does not aggravate me that the viruses are out there, it makes me mad that I was fool enough to get one, and one that I could not get rid of.

But yes, I am now back on my feet, and ready to get another virus or trojan.
