He was going to retire anyways, and imo it was the best way to leave football. It gave football a whole new meaning

Just ask yourselves, what would you have done if you were in his position? He did it with the best intentions lol. After what I've heard materazzi wasn't exactly nice to him, I would have done something similar :p

I barely watch football, but I don't miss out the best parts :p

No he didn't say that..

He made a remark about his heritage.. he was being a racist..

Cuz zidane was not orginally french.. he was from some east european country.. can't remember the name..
and materazzi kept pushing him saying bad stuff about him and his country..
Then.. at the time of the headbutt he said.. go back to your own country and stop disgracing the french.. after being scolded at the entire game..
zidane simply flipped and headbutted him.. sure it was not the smartest thing to do.. but who the hell cares ..
