But be careful, this is really addictive! Hint: Click OPTIONS and then GUIDE before playing the first game to understand what it's all about. And don't panic - it's by far not as complicated as it seems!
Oh, and you have to watch a commercial before the game starts (just one short clip).
Yes, exactly (it's just like in UT ). Be sure to save as much money as possible, so you don't waste too much of it for the cheaper towers. This way, I can buy around 6 of the rocket towers (but be aware that they do just 50% damage to the green enemies). Also increase their range with the bonus items (the green ones) and place them in a good tactical position (like in the middle here - the enemy needs to travel all the way around them, opposing itself to their fire).
Don't know if it's the best tactic, but it works for me.
Hehe, you should read the guide! You can upgrade them for half of the original price. Simply click on your unit and see the info shown at the right. It tells you what strength and range the unit will have at the next level. To buy it, click the upgrade label.
I must say the green lasers are extremely useless, and I never noticed the stunner actually doing anything. So I stuck with the level 1 blue towers all along the way to slow them down all the time. In the meantime, the heavy hitters (upgraded big red rocket throwers) can keep pounding away. The purple level 3 are also good at slowing down enemies while dealing a lot of damage too, but you get the most bang for your bucks investing into level three rocket towers.
I kept trying to make money by just putting up enough firepower to stop them, but no more. Every buck you DON'T spend is added in the interest (hence I ended up with 60 thousand something...). You always feel like investing more when you see some of those buggers escaping your towers but when placing them intelligently they can often get them again on the rebound.
On the hardcore maps this changes drastically because very often you DON'T have good places to put your towers where they can hammer at enemies twice. This forces you to upgrade or buy faster to stop the enemies dead but then you never get enough money to buy the big guns which you need in the end to stop the REALLY bad guys... ah well....
