Got this map from zeppelin on sunday and added it to the server
Would like some feedback on it .. since well that's what makes a map even better.
I personaly found it quite creative and the linksetups seemed nice too
Only thing i found was that it was quite a bit of an fps hogger .. meaning it was not 100% smooth for me
I played it today and liked it a lot. Very creative indeed. Nice work, Zeppelin. I will report things I notice that need improvement. So far, I didn't notice anything.
The top area where you get to the Redeemer is very nice. Carnage must have laughed a lot when I tried to get over there and fell down again and again.
Thanks for putting the map on the server Carnage it was great having a chance to play it onlne after putting so many hours into it . also thanks again Frank for your help
If anyone has any ideas or comments, it would be nice to hear them as i'm sure the map could evolve into a better one.
Btw any ideas on how to make it a little more fps friendly?
I did not check that textures that you used, or any thing else that might cause that. Make sure the textures are not dxt5. Most of your textures should only be dxt1.
Other than that, I do not have anything right now. I will check later though. Good job man.
1. It would be nice if you could make the grass/little bushes transpassable, i.e. they don't hinder players in their way.
2. You must do something about the balance in this map. Otherwise it is decided in the first 20 seconds. Once a side has to fight for its first 2 nodes, they don't have a chance anymore. The enemy attacks with tanks, snipers the players trying to load the nodes (and also pretends them from even starting them by snipering the nodes). And once, a node is finally loaded, someone shoots the Redeemer and -boom- it all starts again. Especially the attacking tanks are a problem as the own one from the core can't be used to defend the nodes (it can't move away).
- tried to adjust the balance a bit. I gave the first two nodes more defences and removed the high deemers. Added a tank here, removed a tank there .
- removed all the emitters and dxt 5 textures (i read they are bad for lag).
- removed all the sticky shrubbery.
I hope these changes help as it is all a bit trial and error for me.
Hi Zepp, I hope the level is doing good. I have not had much of a chance to look latley, but will do so, tonight, or tomorrow.
You do know that you can "Paint" grass, trees, and other things into/onto the terrain. This is quick, and it does not slow the computer down too much. And "painted" deco, do not interfere with players or vehicles.

I played the new version tonight and it's already a lot better imo. The first nodes are better defendable now and you can use the tanks from the base. Bushes don't annoy anymore and FPS has also improved as far as I can tell.
I would suggest to add a little more Link Gun ammo in the weapon lockers at the first two nodes. This would help to keep them up when they're attacked. I noticed you put ammo packs around there, but when I needed them, some idiot picked them all up and went away. So I ran out of ammo too quickly and thus lost the node.
But the thing i noticed is that the channel count was realy high on the map over 500 at times .. which i am prety sure effect how a map plays
I have no idea how to lower that since i am no mapper (all i know is spider mines make channels too) and i am sure other stuff does too.

Generaly a map with around 300 channels runs good
