I want to ask you how I can put static meshes into the MyLevel package?
first, I thought it's just like with the textures(screenshots)- I wrote in the line 'Package:' 'MyLevel', but then i saw the file 'MyLevel.usx' in the static mesh folder
could you help me
You made your own static mesh, by makeing something with the red brush, then "surrounding" the new object you made with the red brush. Then clicking on "intersect". You then took the red brush (which now has the shape of the object you made), and moved it off to the side. With a right click, in the popup menu, you clicked on "convert " "convert to static mesh",
you put myLevel into the "Package" column, and gave it a name.
It should be there if you did all of this. This also works with other, already made S. meshes.
never save anything.... other than your myLevel package. If you did this, STOP EVERYTHING....and uninstall UT. Reinstall UT and see if you have trouble with your map. If so....Restart from new. I am sorry, but there is not much you can do. If you want, give me your work, and I will see if there is something I can do. DO NOT GET MAD!!! AND DO NOT GIVE UP!!! We need mappers, and it will ALWAYS get better in your next map. Write me. Frank
yeah,
Frank! It works!
I didnt save it this time and, after re-opening the map, this static mesh is still there!
...and dont worry about me, i will not give up- I had already so many problems with the editor I had to fight against - and i still make maps
