you guys seem to have lots of prejudices about overclocking, the fact is.. its all the opposite of what you ppl think.
The guide says.. there are extremists.. that go far with clocking.
But a simple cpu enhancement of 500 mhz max.. well anyone can do that lol.
No special mobo needed. Only a good cooling system, and knowledge of your mobo and cpu is needed. so yeh..

lol well atm i have a very bad pc.. 2800+, 768 ram and 6200GS
the 2800+ is 1.6ghz, now runs at 2.71, the gpu is 300/400 it runs on 575/700..
I use the normal amount of fans, have a good case with good airflow, a standard cpu and gpu cooler.
Pc is at fully stressed 51 degrees
Idle 36, and normally around 42..
So yeh, imo anyone can overclock, However if you want to join the 4ghz club, you go buy insane cooling system + case and buy a E6850 and let it run 4.3ghz, that is ofcourse, not possible with the average system.
But like I said, an increase of 500mhz, is pretty good, and won't destabilize ur pc. You will notice that difference too.

Hi!
Well, Ghost, what you don't seem to know is that more heat than allowed decreases the lifetime of a chip - even if the system runs stable. There's a reason why the manufacturers clock their products with the rate they are being shipped with. Otherwise, AMD, for example, could simply sell faster CPUs and gain an advantage over Intel. Don't you think they would do it if it was safe?
Coco.
