Server HELP

Hello,
Well, strange things are happening to me as the day progresses. One is with starting my own server. Well i get the server up and running, people come and go as they please except one, ME! I cant see my own server for some reason. i refresh and refresh but cant see my own server. i started the dedicated server in unreal and try to play it in Gold but no cigar. Any one have this problem or know how to fix it

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when i was playing on my Lan
I didn't realy find a fix for it but a workaround..

Even though it's not in the list u just type the ip of ure server

for example : open 192.168.0.1 for ure network
and if it happens on ure own machine u can try ure own local ip : 127.0.0.1

Yes... you shouldn't waste yourself worrying about that. Since you KNOW the IP of your server you will always find a way on it.

It appears Unreal can only attach to ONE IP simulataniously, so it either broadcasts internet OR LAN, never both. You be happy if it broadcasts internet, forcing it todo that if it chose LAN would be more tricky

Well, i got that to work now, i can get in successfully, but now for some reason when ever i start it, it goes to my desktop and the dedicated server icon appears then disappears. then i cant join. what is going on now??

When there is no icon it usualy means the server crashed for some reason
The best thing u can do is look in the "server.log"in unreal system dir
and see what coused the crash and then try to correct it..
Usualy something like a file not found or something

Looks like a conflict with port redirection I had once. Be sure to forward incoming unreal ports ONLY to the server and NOT to the other pc.
