Unreal Hidden and Beta Skin Packs

Post by TheEmperorStalwartUK »

The Hidden Skins pack contains 13 skins that came with Unreal but were "hidden" and could not be used by players until it was released. Inculded are 2 Female2 skins, 7 Male1 skins, 1 Male2 skin and 3 Nali skins. The Nali player model is in itself hidden but can and has been "unlocked" in the past. Instructions on how to do so are inculded.

There's also the Beta Skins Pack which features 5 skins extracted and converted from the '97 Beta (that this place doesn't seem to like for some reason). Contained within are 1 Male1 skin, 3 further Nali skins and even 1 Skaarj skin. These skins did not make it into the final game but now are available for all to enjoy.

You may also be able to find them eslewhere. If you do then please tell me either in this thread, in a PM or via a IM.
Here are some screenshots of the skins:

Nice. Hehe Nalies are the best, but I also like those Male1 skins.

As I posted on OldUnreal before, UTeamFix already has those skins (except for the Nali since NaliPlayer is not supported) enabled without any additional downloads, just fyi.

The BOT-page of the manual gives information which skins exist, they can be used simply with the "skin" parameter in an "open" command.

These skins are intended for use anywhere online and offline, not just UTeamFix servers. Plus your method isn't widely known and not promiently advertised (people are unlikely to look for skins for themselves on a page about Bots).

Yup... because most people don't really care about such things, and those who do read about everything, including the bot pages. Also the advantages of stand-alone packages are known (independency), as are advantages of not having to install features that already exist in certain environments. I always reference existing materials in my work if it is known so people can decide best what suits their own purposes.

Just out of interest I just sent an email to two dozen or so server admins. Hopefully at least a few of them will be interested in these skins. Here is the text of the email:
Before you delete this email, please take a minute and read it's contents. You may already know me as TheEmperorStalwartUK.

You may or may not be aware of the existence of these skins. For those of you that don't please read the following paragraph.

When Unreal was released, for unknown reasons some skins were hidden away and made unusable by players. However, not too long ago I managed to extract these skins and make them usable by players. There are a variety of Female2, Male1, Male2 and even Nali skins that I managed to "unlock" in a sense.

These skins can only be used online if the server that a players joins also has these skins installed as well. That is where you come in.

If you need a place to direct players to download the skins then the download at FileFront below should suffice:

http://files.filefront.com/6235174

And speaking of downloads, there have been two releases of the Hidden Skins Pack to date. Both versions combined have had 53 downloads to date, with new downloads taking place everyday. There have been even more untracked downloads from other Unreal sites as well.

Attached to this email is the Hidden Skins Pack itself as well as some screenshots of the skins included. If you are interested please reply to this email.

Thanks, always good to get some appreciation for one's work.

Sorry guys for being out of this community for a while, been rather busy and catching up with various things. Hopefully I will be more active from now on.

As for the email it did make some impact. Ended up getting two replies (was expecting something like that anyway) and at least one server even has them installed.

Finally fixed that image link. I fixed up the link on OldUnreal but forgot to do the same for other sites. It should work perfectly now. I apologise for any inconvenience that was caused in the meantime.
