Ghost made a good point, I often get addressed by Germans in their language on our server asking something about the clan. The fact I speak German is totally besides the point that this is inappropriate from the person who starts interrogating about the clan. If he had the least respect he would at least try Dutch first. But people are ignorant.

Also, I wasn't referring to some mambo jambo comments or the casual remarks from time to time in one language or another. I was referring to ongoing conversations, like other clans talking Swedish or something about THEIR clan matches or something. I also find it insulting when Carnage, Chesire and ZzCat start a Dutch conversation as I feel left out. For somebody who doesn't understand what's being talked about, every message is spam!

I am not going todo anything until I heard all sides involved, I am especially waiting for Carnage's and ZZCat's opinions/posts.

Well, I hate that too but it seems there isn't much to be done about it.
You can ban and kick everyone who doesn't speak accordingly but most of them are ignorant and do whatever they please, if you would kick those people..the server would be fairly empty. Personally it is disturbing when I see weird languages all day long in a server.
There is 2 things I can do...don't give a damn, why do I even want to follow a convo?
the second thing is just mute them.
It is a game..that involves shooting a gun at your opponent. Besides talking with clanmates I feel that convo's shouldn't be done on UT..u have chat programs for that. Even though I do it myself. I try to not say alot. Ignore people even if I must. If you want to talk just add me on msn or something.
Basically, there are rules. But as long as we all use our own language every once and a while, we cannot forbid others not too. Even though it is our server. Hope I made a point. It can sometimes take alot of text for me to explain what I actually mean.

Well it's quite simple i've put that rule there for a reason
As it also passes round the server adds a few times a match

So basicly i want people who play there to speak english .

And yes i don't mind the occasional chatter in peeps own language
But then main language is english .. and anyone not sticking to that very simple rule will win a mute from me .. member or no member

Or if u lot have objections against this rule please share it with me then we can just toss it out the window and everyone can say and do whatever they like... would at least save me time .

No...just like in any country..some rules aren't listened to.
Keep the rules..if people talk too much in other language..it is your problem. Just mute them.
Most will talk english.

In my opinion it's ok if people talk the language they like if they know that everyone on the server speaks that language. I did this with Coco few times on Teamspeak. As long as we are alone it doesn't matter that we talk german. When someone else non-german speaking joins, switch to english of course.

When you see someone else on the server talking not english, you have two choices:
- You care. Warn them and if they don't stop try to get an admin there to mute them
- You don't care. Ask around if anyone is bothered and if no one is, well, I don't see the problem in using another language...

There is no problem..
In what you say.
However there are rules..and they must be followed.
Without rules. There will be taken advantage from the fact that people can use their own language whenever they want.
Not all people are as wise and respectful as you and coco.
That IS a problem.

i think there should be no rule for that..
everyone should be social enough to talk in english so that everyone can understand him, but a rule makes it too constrictiv imo..
