Because I like things to be as hassle free as possible.
With a wired mouse, you plug it in, possibly install drivers, and then it works until you reinstall the OS or change the mouse.
With a wireless mouse, you can
- run out of battery in the worst moments
- indeed just having to bother to recharge the thing is crap IMO
- have potentially more latency
- may run into frequency interferences with other devices
For similar reasons, I would never use WLAN, Bluetooth or any other wireless technology. Just because they do work successfully and without problems (for one or more users) does not mean these technologies are generally hassle free. The fact remains the list of potential problems with wired mice is shorter than that of wireless ones, and that's all that counts to me.
