plz help first it was minor but now its just gone bad my screen will freeze every 5 seconds and then i will end up sumwer else or dead. any ideas plz help

First though is an overheated vid card .. check if the fans are still spinning and if it's clean

quick response, and correct. Chenck the vidio card. It is not acting right. Or you have a program running in the back ground, like a virus protection software, that may be downloading an update.

My virus checker dls no freeze; my vid card fan seizes up and the game freezes then eventually resets the pc ... solution for me = get a toothbrush to kick start the vid card fan ... works nicely

Hi Sam!

Something that I can also imagine is that your memory might be full for some reason. When the game freezes, take a look at your harddrive LED. If it's flashing heavily or even is constantly on, your PC is swapping memory blocks which causes the game to freeze for a moment.

Try to close all programs that are not required to run, before you start UT. It might also help to check the processes' memory usage with the task manager (press CTRL+Shit+Esc at the same time to open it). To see the memory usage, you may need to click the "processes" tab, select "choose columns" from the "view" menu and check the memory fields. (Sorry if the names aren't 100% accurate - I translated them from my German labels)

Have you got your pc setup to stop the harddrive after every 5 mins.

Right click on desktop,go down to propeties,click on the screensaver tab
and at the bottom of that is monitor power.Click on the power button
which takes you to your power schemes.

Listed are Monitor,Harddrives,System standby.

If any of these are set to say 5mins or less then that is why you get freezes.
The hd is parked and when it is required it has to spin up again causing freezes.

Good place to check first

thx all for your help but i found the rpoblem i recently tried dloading sumtin and had to cancel the dload bcoz it was not actually dloading nemore and recently i tried removing some software and it sed u must finish first dload and then the dload undid itself and it seemed fine ^^
