Made a little demo

Aha so that would basicly mean that it does use the files in the cache

I'll add the packages later and see if it works then

Hi!

I tried it as well... created subdir "Demos" in the UT2004 directory, copied the demo file into it, started the game, clicked Community and found a Demo tab with the demo in it. There's a note saying:

In order to be played, this demo requires the packages listed below. If you are connected to the Internet, they will be autodownloaded when the demo is played.

::Required packages::

3SPNv3141
---

But when I start the demo, I get the same error message that hyper posted already. As it seems, the package can't be found on the internet. Maybe, a redirect server must be entered when creating the demo?

Now updated the file

Should now contain all the .U files and the others

I did not add the UCL and INT files coz i don't think they are needed .. but of course i could be wrong

So if it still give peeps problems lemme know

Why if you try to google for it you should get some hits

Demo play is OFFLINE so entering a redirect server is an oxymoron.

I find it good enough Epic did include a Demo load screen at all that even SHOWs what packages are missing. That's really a long way from 1998, more than I ever would have thought they could achieve

Hmm, ok, I just thought that would make sense since the game says:
"If you are connected to the Internet, they will be autodownloaded when the demo is played."

Really? I wonder how that is supposed to work, if required demo-files cannot load from cache (as seen already) then this statement is ridiculous. But okay good catch, let's say "another ut2k4" bug
