Alternative Link Setup on }TCP{ FunHouse !! (ONS)

Post by [x4fun]7even »

Hi all,

first of all I wanna say that the TCP ONS server is a very good server! I like it very much, because of stable low ping, many maps and ONSplus.

But there is something, that ruins good matches with good players to an endless one-node-battle: its the alternative link setup, which is choosen in every second match.

There's no action, no strategie and no other ONS-gameplay in it when playing these link setups. I haven't played it with all maps of course ;) but on big maps e. g. the alternative link setup often uses only 30% of the whole map .. and this is really bad.

Many good maps live from their good (original) link setup and I have never met an alternative one, which was better than the original..

So .. maybe some others think the same and they can post here to show what they think..

What map exactly do you refer to?

Hmm .. I can hardly remember the names of the maps.

Yesterday, it was ONS-TIM-SlateSE and the map before .. I think it was ONS-AHD-TE-BV, but I'm not sure.

But it was not the first time, I encountered this. I'm not writing s. th., when its bugging me the first time! ;)

heheee .. maps are one thing ... their names is another! Don't ask me how long it took to me to find out these two names!! ;) (Hint: two "kicked for idlings while specing inclusive!)

But these two are very good maps! They are biiiig! Worth a try (with standard link setup ;))

Well that's also the problem there some maps have a decent default node setup and well some are just crap .. but then the custom nodesetups is good so i just set the server to make it random after a round and well sometimes it works out good and sometimes it doesn't

Ah, it is on random? OK, thats an explanation for this stupid setup I played there.. ;)

My experiences with random link setups are not good at all.. so maybe another solution would be better..
