Using WMapvote with Co-op

Post by OneShot »

Hi TCP :-)

I think this post is more directed to TCP Wolf but anyone can give me a heads up if they want.

I am currently running an unreal1 co-op server and I have tested your WMapvote on both DM and co-op. In deathmatch I have no problems, you can vote fine to the next map while the GUI pops up where its supposed to be. When I try to run WMapvote in coop. I will get the popup message that tells me "I am now able to mapvote", but when I type "mapvote' in tab or console the interface does not popup for me. Im hoping that there is an easy way to tweak this so the window will popup in my server :)

Thanks

p.s. btw I dident see the mod section you had at the bottom of the forums. You can move this post down there if you'd like .. sorry :X

I had the same problem when I tried WMapVote in coop a long time ago. Maybe Wolf can provide a compatibility update or you can switch to the new JCoopZ when it gets released this month or the next. It will have a built-in map voting system. (But is works differently than the WMapVote method)

I'm using the JCoopZ beta now.

WMapVote was never intended for coop, I didn't know people wanted to VOTE on maps in coop? How is that supposed to work anyway, normally you exit a map to enter the next... :?:

It works with custom map pack's because if you get stuck or somthing doesnt go the way you want it .. you can vote for that map to restart or start on a new map in that map pack (maybe the next)

Ah I see... well if you vote-SKIP a map in coop, the map actually restarts.

In DeathMatch, there is a maplist existing which handles - well - a list of maps. In (normal) coop, there is no such list, on map has an exit point telling the server which map is supposed to be next, but ONLY the next map and not the one after that. It is a sequence where you always only have the next in line visible.

There may be custom mods available from coop programmers that have the listings of custom map packs - or configurable lists, but that is outside of my area of work, and I don't intend to enter it. (And that means I'm not gonna add anything to WMapVote to be able to vote on coop maps)
