What username am I supposed to enter? Obviously I can't use special signs, okay, email addresses no... then what? I entered a name in lowercases just like I was asked and still....

Here, 2nd time I tried using an email address, first attempt was with "tcpwolf" only, just lowercase normal ASCII letters...

just enter:
/nick tcpwolf
/server quakenet.org
/join #theclanpunishers

There is nothing about email adresses - even not if you try to contac Q or L I think...
If tcpwolf is already used, try tcpwolf_ or tcpwolf.foo or anything like that...

on the quakenet server its impossible to register your nickname. if its free you can use it, maybe the nick you entered was/is in use. try another
