piped weapon binds

Found this usefull post by Groove{hLk} on their forum

Might be quite usefull .. takes some getting used to but seems to work well

Your weapons are all numbered by default. To pipeswitch just open your "UT2004" folder..then open "System" folder..there you will find "user.ini" Open the user.ini with notepad and scroll untill you find the key you wish to bind to.

A pipeswitch bind will look like this" Enter=pipedSwitchWeapon 9 | pipedSwitchWeapon 4' This binds my "enter" key to lightning gun and shock rifle.

0 = Super Weapons
1 = Shield Gun
2 = Assault Riffle
3 = Bio Rifle
4 = Shock Rifle
5 = Link Gun
6 = MiniGun
7 = Flak Cannon
8 = Rocket Launcher
9 = Lightning Rifle


this makes switching between guns alot faster and easier.

I have my mouse wheel, do I need this?

Well i've set up my mousewheel to change guns .. but i can also press it and then it is just a button
So now 1 click is rockets .. and again is asmd
did the same thing for another key

I have
q -> shock rifle (used often)
x -> LG (used sometimes)
y -> RL (never really used)

I think maybe I should have a Flak Cannon key, because I use it very often...

I have a logitech G5 mouse which has two more actions on the mouse wheel. Left click (you push the mouse wheel to the left) switches to asmd and right click switches to rifle.

There's a further button near the thumb that you can also bind keys to (in my case: entering/leaving a vehicle)

I have a mx518 which looks like G5
it doesnt has a scroll ya can push to right of left but on the place ZzCat enters/leaves a vehicle the 518 has two button, on internet used for backward and forward.

in UT use backward for flak
forward for rocket
scroll for lightning (the button function)

q for shieldgun
e for minigun

if ya see me using shock and linkgun..well i can easy reach them on the 4 and 5..no probs with that ^^
then shift is left for crouch and when i play ons i should just hit the enter for a vehicle lol

and oh yeh..f to drop a weapon

take a look @ the user.ini
every mousbutton has a name ^^.

LeftMouse=Fire
MiddleMouse=SwitchWeapon 9
RightMouse=AltFire

and somewhere else in the user.ini i found this

Mouse5=SwitchWeapon 8
Mouse4=SwitchWeapon 7

my guess..

Mouse4=pipedSwitchWeapon 9 | pipedSwitchWeapon 4

something like should could and would do it ^^

I have a 7-Button Razer Diamondback.
But I always use just 3 Buttons

Middle Button is run for me, very usefull if you try to eat and play at one time and can use just one hand:
With one hand I can do everything except for jump, duck, strave, go back and of course the shortcuts for weapons....(I use my mouse wheel)

make a jump one...and/or dodge
