when i try to access the server i get a message pop up sayin ons plus version mismatch and i havent downloaded any patches but i dow wanna reinstaall unreal cuz of all the patches i have to put bck in

Hi mate. I had that as well,but all i did was reset my system and all was then ok. It seemed to occur after I had been playing on another server.

Do u have the ONSPlus in ure system folder ?
If so remove it

If not what u can do is join a different server first (the dm for example)
then join the ONS server again

Or when u get the mismatch error just press the TAB and type obj garbage and then connect to the ONS again

This should solve the problem

I always try to keep the version the same as on Titan .. could be i missed a version :0

Now this article was written for old Unreal, but is pretty much the same for ut2k4... as far as I know, there still ain't no kind of "version management" inside ut2k4...
