i used to use firefox but the latest build of ie 7 ( beta 3) is much better me thinks(Has tabbed browserlike firefox now), It works great.
Also you can get an i.e. plugin for firefox that enables you to go on sites that don't agree with firefox ;)

See y'all on the tcp server ;0)

No, it is not that simple.... I'm using the GNU/Linux Operating System and the firefox add-on is Windows-only.
Of course there *is* an option that I emulate IE with WINE but I'm not convinced yet to go through this just because some homepages don't use standarts every browser understands.

Try to use Windows instead, because Opera is a failure :P
Even though his site displays fine on my firefox 1.5.0.4 without any IE emulation addon plugin bollocks :/

I'm afraid I don't visit sites that do not work with arbitrary browsers (aside from lynx...) so unfortunately there is nothing to see on your site for me. There is no way I am going to install this or that plugin just to view some page. Use plain HTML and media content as OPTIONAL info if you like, but basing a site solely on some proprietary technology is just as bad as optimizing it for a certain screen resolution.

Lynx is a very cool browser....it had a Pop-up blocker years before the Pop-up was even invented...

BTW, I like your attitude :)

strange linux love

Post by lexybot »

lol i have nothing against using firefox or linux, I used to use firefox but prefer the security of the latest edition of I.E. 7 (which has decent tabbed browsing now).

I have a friend who loves having both o.s. on one system.

He's found after much experimenting that having windows server 2003 and running vmware to emulate windows xp pro and or various flavors of linux such as debian e.t.c. works great as server 2003 does'nt gobble up resources (better than using virtual pc e.t.c.) plus you can avoid all the typical install compatibiliy issues with linux and hardware it works real smooth this way.

I think it's unwise to limit yourself to one os.

Futhermore various games company's that have seen my site always complement it, calling it very professional. Which is all good, I have considered hosting a site like angel mappers basic browser friendly html site see http://www.angelmapper.com/index.htm
but I will need more convincing.
