anyone remember how to record a demo in Unreal? It's been years since I have done it, but now when I try, the game crashes....any tips or tricks?

Why not use some external program like Fraps to record video ? :/

If you happen to own a second, older PC, you could try to record over the old PC and avoid lag alltogether :/
Or just snap pictures in a really fast way and add them together to a gif of epic proportions :shock:

hmmm...perhaps it stopped working after the 224 patch? This is the error I get :cry:

I do not recommend using demorec at all, it is buggy and prone to crashes.

Furthermore, on playback you need the EXACT same Unreal and all files that were in use when recording took place.

You are really better off using a third party recorder and just grab frames. All you need is a computer that is fast enough to run the game AND the video grabber at the same time.

The "2nd computer" records is also a very good idea. Krull's trickjump movie was created this way.
