Btw I didnt wanna make an extra thread, but did anybody notice how little posting is happening lately ? You're all getting old and lazy and its putting my quest for 10000 to a screeching halt ;_;

Check out my post count, I'm the only reason why theres a spam section, which should be merged with the General sections again

You ppl just got old and complacent. Seems to me that back then more ppl posted even though we had less members. I blame it on the lack of Taz and Xavious :l

}TCP{ Dieing ? Hehe no, its not even feeling a bit iffy, look at the map and server development and recruitment on the 2k4 front and the continuing development of Wolfs mod and the matches in Unreal. The }TCP{ ethos and spirit remains true as its ever been

These things go in cycles thats all, people are no doubt busy doing things. Would be nice to hear from Angloid and Tranq though, not seen em for a while (maybe they are lost somewhere in 2k4

), also not seen much of Alice

It does not remain true, it is now part of UT2K4. That's an entirely different boardgame. The U1 community is small, pretty much everyone knows everyone else, theres a real sense of comradeship.

I have played on a fair few UT2K4 servers now, and i see none of this. Players do not want to join a guild, make friends, hang about on forums chatting about things which don't really matter but are fun none-the-less...

Maybe i'm completely wrong and there's a whole deep community spirit in UT2K4... But this is how i see it anyway.

Well the 2k4 gameplay encourages Quake-like rather than traditional Unreal fairplay, this might be why u got that impression Xav. It takes some getting used to and it is annoying to be fraged 3 times in quick succession without a real weapon for sure when u are used to Unreal.

But peeps are mostly friendly and it is fun nonetheless, Ive not witnessed any idiot tomfoolery in the last few weeks. Maybe you could try staying with a couple of servers for while to get to know the regulars ? Also, I dont use teamspeak so I have no idea how much chatter may be going on in the background

You dont need a community spirit to have forum posts, you only need less lazy ppl who also try to respond to some boring topic with funny or witty comments

Otherwise everything gets stale and uninteresting. Thats exactly why I would never have introduced a spam forum to kill off all the buzz which the General section once had :/
