I will try to learn this PS and if Cat would help me....

How do you get the character in? If you take a screenie, you could cut it out, but that does not seem plausible. I was looking through the Animations, but I was never there yet. How was Cat's caracter put on screen?!?
How was my character put on screen. It all starts with a screen shot of a girl holding a redeemer. That girl is cut out using the magic wand, and copied to a new image. The edges are softened using a blur tool. The result is snatched again using the magic wand and becomes layer one. Layer two is the text 'onslaught'. This text is generated using ulead cool 3d, saved as bitmap and cut out. The edges are softened and the whole thing is put in to the picture as layer two. Some layer blending and shadowing was applied. Layer three is the text 'tcpclan.nl' using the same font as the one used in cool-3d, only this time as text in Photoshop. The purple background is a radial gradient. The four layers are flattened into one jpg image, and resized to fit in Unreal.

Thanks for the tips. I have been playing with it a bit and got most of the hair balls (pardon the pun) out of my throught, and now as soon as I get alittle time, and I stay sober enough to see the screen, I will attempt to do more. Thanks again.

Any more levels coming out of you?

The dimensions of your picture must be powers of 2. For height and width use a combination of any of the following:

2
4
8
16
32
64
128
256
512
1024
2048
4096
....

Also the pictures must be BMP's if you want to import them into UT2004.

About the pictures. They do not need to be BMP's. If you have the PS Plug in for DDS files, I think you should save them as DDS. DDS is smaller and I am tring something out now. I think when you import the BMP file, it stays the size, so about 1.5 to 2 times as big as the original DDS. I am checking this now and will update this in a minute.

OK I did check this out, and yes the imported BMP is definatly larger (see screenie) The "myLeveltest" is the one with the BMP and the "myLeveltest1" is the DDS.

So it is better to get it into a dds file first and then import the DDS. Hope this helped someone.

As soon as I master terrain and worked through all 3D Buzz videos I will try my best to make an onslaught map.

I will be looking forward to seeing one from you. Kobra just made a ONS "possible" level. It is not bad at all. I got a look at it because he had a problem with Collisions. Well anyway, 3dBuzz is a super site and it is too bad that the third part to the ONS tut is not there yet. They are really busy, and it may take awhile, but there are so many other tuts out there. I have really learned allot in the last couple of weeks. LOL And tell me when there is something in the brew.

Kee been playing with it a bit
And this is what i ended up with :)

It's on the Server now so if ure curious or of course if u have a better one :)

Ow i also finaly found out how to make a picture translucent so the black stuff should be invis on the server ( black is better then white for that , coz with white u still see a haze of it and black virtualy none )

Cheers

Looks good Carnage, very sharp :D

Personally, I prefer the }TCP{ letters without warping on the lower part of the letters, but thats a very minor picky preference 8) .
