Trillian / Miranda killed

It would appear ICQ / AOL did it again.

In the past few days something was changed in the protocol, causing errors and lost messages for people using third party clients like Trillian and Miranda.

For Trillian 3 pro, a fixed aim.dll was released but all the rest sit on the dry for now it appears... :-/

Are aim and icq actually both run by the same company? Sucks though, it's as bad as microsoft themselves.

Trillian 3.1 AutoUpdate got a new ICQ/AIM plugin a few days ago and works without problems here.

Yea but there are also people still using older versions and (rightfully) refusing to update.

Those IM networks keep to update from time to time. First Yahoo, then MSN and now ICQ/AIM. Since these are non-open networks there is less choice: Update or forget it.

Maybe there wll be one day that everyone is on Jabber. This open network will not change without notice.
