3 reasons are possible :

1.) He got a personal life now, maybe some girlfriend, dates, going out, partying, all that costy bs ppl go through when they think they need to experience something in life.

2.) He noticed that the game died and theres nothing left to play for.

3.) He went to play some other game (Quake, FEAR, Football Manager, CSS) and forgot all about Unreal.

No, they're not.

2 indicates that he dropped the game without anything else to do. Its like falling down some hole after realizing that nothing else is left. Sometimes that even leads to 1.), sometimes it leads to 3.) and sometimes it just leads to posting more on this forum.

3 means that he could've bought a new game whilst still playing Unreal and then liked the new game so much, that he forgot Unreal. Quite a difference there, eh ?

LOL... Well... Actually it was because of the normal Unreal server IP was blocked by my ISP for some odd reason.. But really soon we will be getting a better band and from a different ISP... We're gettin a 4mb/2mb

Carnage's IP...
I tried pinging him but it didnt work, so Carnage put 1+1 together and got the answer that my ISP must have blocked his IP, just FYI..

blah... oh, btw... you guys play UT2k4 now?
guess i actually was kinda figuring on playin some unreal next week... i'm stealing internet from someone else now

so i most likely should be able to go in to the server...
