Yep, been using it for a few weeks, and it's PDF exporter owns (I hear that you have to pay for Word's PDF exporter sepratley), :D
I have "free PDF" too, which works based on GhostScript (probably some Linux clone...). Quality is a bit higher compared to the Open Office PDF explorer, 100% freeware too, and works like the "real" Adobe distiller, being a virtual printer driver so can create PDFs out of anything that can print...

But browser... Opera...

Only browser so far that have seen which has features like:
- no referrer logging
- java script function disabling (you can disable specific java script calls)
- images on/off with one mouseclick
Sounds interesting. But too bad that they still have a banner in the toolbar :(

I use firefox cause of all the super-cool plugins.

Theres also the little tiny features here and there that really add to the quality of the browser, for example how you can zoom in on an image which doesn't fit in the browser window.

And the plugins again, make it say cool things like "Mozzila Roborabbit" or "Mozzila Spacepenguin" at the title bar.

They are called extensions dimwit (no insult intended). "Plugins" are things like Flash and Quicktime and exist to add compatibility to various media formats. "Extensions" are quite different, these are (usually) user-created addons that add functionallity to a Mozilla application, these range from small toolbar/statusbar additions to full-scale XUL applications.

Yeah that sucks real bad. Who's going to pay for an internet suite/browser these days when nearly every one of them are available for free...

Well everybody with a bit of common sense I suppose. If a software piece is WORTH the price I gladly pay it. That's the only trouble I see nowadays, most software nowadays is overpriced for what you get is buggy shit you can get as freeware as well. But once a software has reached a mature state and comes at a reasonable rate, I buy it of course!

I tried the new Opera, but did not like it. It has compatibility probs with some websites and the javaScript options are similar to those in FireFox.

By the way: I found a great firefox plugin: Remove It Permanently (RIP) which allows you to remove any unwanted object from a website.

You can see it the other way round too. Websites, that can'T be displayed properly in ALL browsers are the ones to blame with compatibility problems :P

I wuda thought plugins and extentions were really the same thing with different names...Just an easy way for mozilla to sort them into two groups...

Ow ya and i don't like open office at all. Its absolutely huge. Maybe thats just because i have no need for 99% of the features...

Abiword is good though...A free open source WP proggy.

Technically you are completely right here. But since many 'web designers/webmasters' do not have the skills to create completely compatible sites there will be incompatible sites for years.

So from an users point of view it's better to stick with one of the big browsers: Internet Explorer or Gecko (Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox etc.)
Only then you have the best chance to see the website in the way it's meant to be viewed.

Well I usually don't visit sites that can't be viewed with any browser. A site which doesn't even fulfill the minimalistic standards of being viewable with a browser of my free choice is not worth visiting at all.

Old topic but seeing as Opera is now Freeware its worth mentioning for the ppl who always wanted it, but were too lazy to search for a keygen or crack :P
