Oh, btw. I downloaded Norton Internet Security 2005 after reading your replies!

Thnx! It blocked a hacker from my computer :P

But it slows down my computer.. And 'bout XP, I've never really liked it either. I would rather have ME on a fast computer then XP... But so long I only have a slow computer with ME :S

Nice :)

maybe you can speed things up a little by only let the firewall and anti-virus engine run in real-time, the rest manually.

And about XP: If you can get your hands on it, you might want to try 2K instead of XP. It's a bit lighter and has the windows, desktop, colours and icons as ME.

Sorry to hear xp pro get such a bad rap.Im no ms promoter, but I do love my xp.Ive only been playing around with computers for about 6-7 years.Took me awhile to go from 98, but once I got used to xp....love it.2000 is great too,but xp,for me,has been good.I want to see longhorn released.
As far as norton 2005 ,I have that pro edition.I uninstalled it just because it is a system hog.Great program, but what a pig.

Ok,and since this is a desktop thread

TV shows ? Dont you live in America ? :P

And isnt Diskeeper that Scientology sponsored program ? Isnt O&O better ? Or Perfectdisk ? :O

And I never know what ppl actually use Powerstrip for..I mean I have it too, but never know what to do with it :l

Plus Norton Security can be replaced with a free firewall (Kerio or Sygate) and an Antivirus program like NOD32 or AVG or whatever..A lot less ram needed and doesnt slow everything down :/

Sometimes the add/remove hardware/software just doesnt work...go figure....ms isnt always perfect. You can del. it through the root folder, but you will still have to manually remove from registery. If you dont know anything about registery....then dont toy with it.

This actually is the desktop of my Unreal server PC. I temporarily converted it to a workstation because the motherboard of my worksation died from the infamous leaking capacitor problem.

ah i see the thunderbird...i use that for reading emails...unfortunately it doesnt support that type that msn uses...i forget its name...and to send emaisl with it you need to know the name of the smtp server, for which i would need access to the admin thing for my net connection.
