That site somehow reminds me of our site :P

And if you know me well enough, you'll know that I despise any file which is Unreal related and has a size of over 2 mb :l

Cool site! I especially like the professional appearance and the outstanding readability of the fonts. :?

Well I like music but I am starting to dislike metal :? and without SUSongPlayer you get an additional map with every new song you add on the server.

It's an old issue and both viewpoints have been stated already... just a reminder :(

Why is there music in some maps anyways ? Its always annoying when you use some external audio player and the map plays music..Or is there a way to turn map music off ? :P

Can you just browse through Unreal's menu's to find the music volume slider or shall we write you a guide?

I was just giving a friendly invite.....im no unreal guru.We have been thinking of adding susongplayer to the server...I tested it on my cable server and it did fine but I will have to read the install/commands again as I dont wanna screw the server. Not sure how it will do with existing umx.Ah well,we will see how it goes.Any tips on how to make the transition go smoothly would be appreciated.............

Your problem with SUSongPlayer was, that a new player would have to download EVERY music file prior to entering even ONE map, so without forcing players to download the music from a download site prior to even try to join your server, you had abandoned SUSongPlayer for that reason back then when you made your first run with it. As far as I can remember you got it to run smoothly without problem, only adding every song file as serverpackage appeared to be inconvenient as for people would just cancel their download after a while.

If you have a massive amount of music and large files too the problem grows. If I really wanted all that music I would brutally FORCE users into downloading all music files from your website. The benefit is, once someone got it from the site, there will be not ONE single additional music download from the server...

I never fiddle with volume sliders in games, you never know when they change your system audio settings as well and then you sit there and have to put all the system sliders back to the middle..Work..
All that Unreal needs to avoid downloads would be some small program, which sets in as soon as a download happens and then redirects you to a website to download from..or automatically checks a list of websites for the actual file and downloads it, whilst pausing Unreal..But thats probably not possible :P

i suggested that a few months back...your reply went something like "If epic wanted that to happen, they would have included a web browser in unreal"

edit: actually now that i think about it, maybe that was wolf.

How could you possibly think I'd give you such an answer ? :P
But it'd be practical..Companies should make that a standard and let ppl add websites or dld locations to the "in game dld manager".I guess the only downside would be the huge traffic the websites will get :O
or maybe develop some map p2p system like bittorrent..one guy starts the map dld off the server and the others dld off each other..etc..bla :P
